Heidi Klum Was Told to Lose Weight at the Beginning of Her Career

Supermodel Heidi Klum, voted by Peoplestar.co.uk Celebrity Magazine as one of "The World's Most Beautiful Women," recently revealed in an interview that people from the fashion industry often told her to slenderize her already thin figure.

"People were trying to squeeze me into boxes saying ‘Oh, you’re too happy, maybe we’ll cut your hair really short, maybe you’ll lose some weight to be thinner'," says Klum. "And I was like no, my hair is the way it is and my body is fine and I would just go with what I believed in."

"I did a lot of catalogues in the beginning and went to so many castings and tried, tried, tried, for many years," explains Heidi, who was rumored to be 5’9.5″ and 120 pounds at that time.

In December 2004, Klum became the host, judge and executive producer of the reality show Project Runway on the U.S. cable television channel Bravo in which fashion designers compete for the opportunity to show their line at New York Fashion Week and receive money to launch their own fashion line. She received an Emmy Award nomination for the show for each of the first four seasons.
